The trailer shows the inside of the dubbed 'Altair Style' Blade (Dubbed because the second installment is about an assassin named 'Ezio'. Also, he has TWO, yes, 2 hidden blades, one for each arm.

Found with pictures-not my review.

Altair is hitting stores like Hot Topic or FYE in some places, but your best bet is either the local comic shop or an online dealer. Expect to pay around $12 - $15, depending on the retailer

Packaging - ***

NECA is sticking with clamshells, which is fine by me. The white background, which fits the design theme of most of the game's packaging, is a bit boring even with the inclusion of the graphics. Still, it's a nice clean ...

Hi, just joined your site and I really like all the stuff here. I was working on a wrist sword prototype a while back, found it, and had no idea how i was gonna finish it. Looking at all the AC designs and wrist weapons, i put something together. I'm going to post a couple pics of it up here. I would love to have some feedback, as this is the first group/community I've found that has people interested in weapons and making them like i have been my whole life so far.

Take the lock and add a second part to it thats attached to a door-henge type metal flap thing. opening the lock will release the claws and lock them in place at the end by having the metal flap thing fall into a groove on the claws. This lock will be on a compression spring to hold it down. I'm not going to spring-load the claws on this for safety/control reasons, i'll ...

Nothing is shown but the blade, and only for a second or two.

It appeared to be a single slide, double edged blade. Like the SAW blade, only on the bottom, not top of the arm.

Automatic retraction, but it looked like he activated a button on the top of his forearm with his left hand.

Its at the part where

Anyways, I got stuck on how to make the finger trigger. My 'lock' is a modified clip, the ones for holding chip bags.

Anyways, I think the spring is too tough or something, but I can't manage to pull on it.

Can anyone recommend a substitution that would work better? Thanks!

I went internet digging and I found a forum for people who make their own Predator costumes and props.

As most of us know, Predators are a alien race of hunters who wear large automatic forearm gauntlet blades.

So I searched through all their forum for a few hours and dug up everything I could on how they make thier wrist blades.

Some are simple with rubberbands or such to move the blade.

The question I pose is simple: are wrist mounted blades superior to traditional knives and swords? Can they be used in as many ways as traditional blades??

Basically, are they inferior, superior, (or neither) than regular blades of the same length, and why?

(I realize that there are probably a lot of wrist blades that have very specialized functions. If you think that a ...

hi everyone, i am new here i am building my forearm blade/claws to one day be able to sell. i am posting a very crude design drawing of it to give people an idea. it is operated by a Lithium poly battery, a brushless motor, a brain, and a type of brushless motor switching circuitry that was a pain in the ass to build. the primary construction is of kevlar and titanium and is custom to the individuals forearms. the drawing here only shows the mechanism, not the switching or kevlar casing and frame. ...

Well, I just bought a $30 damascus blade on ebay

it seems just right for a Xiphoid.

It's 12'' long with a 10.25 blade ( 30.5cm with 26cm blade )

I don't know if I'll ever get around to making a xiphoid

or maybe I'll just make a gravity OTF.

maybe it will just sit on my desk for 2 or 3 years.

My last needle was very utilitarian looking, like a doctors tool.

or a sears auto parts tool chest gizmo.

I thought this time I would try and make something victorian.

Here is a simple design that I made in science class today...

It's not much, but it seems easy enough to make. This is not as good as most of the blades on here, but it works for me. I would appreciate any feedback you guys have to give.

How would a Deadpool style xiphoid work? Would a Deadpool arm-sword xiphy be possible?

it could be cool cus you can use it like a sword and you could use it while retracted. the only thing is that sword best be hella sturdy or it will probably wobble like crazy

ideas??

Here he thrust his fist forward and a long sword like blade slides forward into place.

And Strike!

Knocked on his ass!

so, back in holland again, and scanned my sketches in.

in first drawing you see the inside mechanism, kinda

standard. the lower left hinge is fixed, so it can't

move from side to side. other than the hinge/screw on

the other side, wich can move free.

you see also a rough skech off an arm, wich is precisely

the lenght off my arm, so it is a little to long, but i

think i can shorten it in.

there is some math at the sides, that i used to find the

extension out etc.
