XIPHOIDS
Also known as a Retractable Forearm Dagger, Xiphoid is a class of bladed weapons with a dagger blade that is retractable into a forearm worn wristband or bracer sheath.
Designed for swift and quick surprise attacks. It is notable for being evolved from the Katar and similarities to the Pata, short punching swords with the blade sitting above the user's knuckles.
The Weapon Class of Xiphoid has also expanded to include Wrist Spikes, Wrist Mounted Guns, Flamethrowers, and pretty much any weapon mounted on a hidden or visable wristband.

Hi all. Just joined after finding your site thru a google search for info on the Predator spear (was led to the Predator Shuriken)

Im Stuart from Manchester in the UK. I work as a retail Manager in the Outdoor Pursuits industry (tents, equipment, etc etc) & Im also an active member on the USN, Jerzee Devils & EDC forums.

Hobbies include Outdoor pursuits like Hiking, Camping & bushcraft, swimming, Home Improvement & workshop projects, movies & tv, music & socializing.

Im very interested in bladed articles especially tomahawks & throwing items, & I must confess to having a soft spot for bows & crossbows, too.

Ive made quite afew "tactical" short swords (sorta modern wakizashis) from store-bought Ninja swords & future (intended) projects include:-

A folding/collapsible crossbow
A Predator spear (probably, sadly, NOT an extendable version.)
A copy of Mani's Tomahawk from the movie "Brotherhood of the Wolf"
An (airsoft only, unfortunately!) combination M4/M16 with Underslung HK MP5K.

Im looking forward to taking a good look round here & hopefully get some ideas to help me with my own projects.
