| ENOUGH PROCRASTINATION. First off, You all may address Me by Dmitri. I've an obsession with with Butterflies, Bones, and a few other things that you will all see to be recurring themes in My Creations, some of which can be found here www.GadgetSmith.DeviantArt.com with a number of crappy drawings and a few pieces of jewelery as well. I've seen some *astonishing* work on this site, & I figure I should contribute something as well. I Crafted all of these some time ago, some shoddily, and others I put as much work into as the day allowed, & I'll scrimshaw a few of them later on. The Bones I find lying around in the forest. Most were deer at some point, other Bones I've found... I'm not so sure of... As I've little in the way of funds, these pictures were taken with the camera on on of those new-fangled cellular telephones, and as such, I ask you to forgive Me for picture quality that isn't the greatest. First up, Bonechakus! Sawed, drilled, & connected with a chain I made Myself using two different types of wire. I Love the noise these make when they clink together. Sadly, they're asymmetrical because they are a bit... dog-chewed... Bone Push/Punch Dagger: Cut from a deer scapula, reinforced with a rib splint, the handle is wood-overlay that I shaped from a stick, & it's all glued together & then tied with hemp cord that lays in grooves I cut into it. I filed the edges to resemble a shark-tooth. Solid Arrowhead: filed out of a thick Bone found on a camping trip, donor unknown. It's difficult to see the center channel to attach to a shaft. Traded at a Rainbow Gathering for [s]{name of cannabis-related drug removed}[/s] which I immediately exchanged for a bottle of Watermelon Vodka. ... Funny story there... Bone-arang: Two deer jaws superglued & tied with hemp; not the most durable construction, but it still looks neat. For herbivores, deer teeth are surprisingly sharp. Bone Jewelery: Also from an unknown creature. What does this have to do with Weaponry? I wear the spike that's in the center of My Signet Ring in My hair, and it is curved & cut specifically to fit between My fingers, braced by My thumb {between the wings of the Butterfly} for use "in case emergency" The earrings and Signet Ring a coloured with Blood & coated in clear lacquer, which means I literally poured *My SOUL* into Them. Bone-Hilted Claymore: OK, not really a claymore. It's mostly deer Bones. I had a sword with a badly cracked handle, which I fully removed, placed the tang into a what I Believe is a deer tibia I'd filled with wood-glue. The two hip-bones of the guard, the vertebrae as the pommel, & the rib on the side are all only glued there until I can peg them, so I wouldn't Trust this to take much abuse. It is currently on a horizontal stand... waiting... Knives: These I carved with only a small pocketknife several years ago. The right is solid wood, the left is an oak blade with pig's Bone for a handle. Given to My Grandfather as birthday gifts. Kama: this is just a visual Reminder of projects I've yet to do I've many other projects underway, including a pair of tonfa, a usable set of kama, Bone windchimes, a tomahawk or two, various bits of armour, and, provided My Father ever finds the swordfish bill He says is around his house somewhere, a {tragically frangible} fencing rapier. .. Wow... that was a long first post...

| Y'all know I'm male, right? Infection's hypothetical proposal would be a tad strange... I'd likely just take such a thing as a compliment, though. Oh, and Thank you all. Glad you like them. The weather is slowly getting warmer here, but I really Wish all of this rain would stop already, so I can go get more Bones from the pile where people continually dispose of their {presumably poached} deer not too awfully far from here. I saw another bright, new, partial Skeleton there last month that I couldn't carry with Me, & I'd prefer to retrieve as many as possible before they can become as filthy as this: At least the rain might keep the dirt off of them, I Guess... I've yet to find a purpose for what is left of that pile up there, but so far, as many are sponge-y, they're bound for fertilizer. | |

Haha, sorry. Wolfie probably just assumed you a girl because "Chasing Butterflies" is kind of an odd name for a guy. Anyway, nice pics. I've always wanted a knife with like a bone handle and stone blade. That'd be so sick!

Anyway, nice pics. I've always wanted a knife with like a bone handle and stone blade. That'd be so sick! Not at all. I just thought given Infection's bone obsession it wouldn't matter. (I figured CB was male because almost everyone here is)

shit... Well, anyways, love your bone collection! Mine's slowly building, and someday I hope to have a nice assortment. I mainly look for skulls and spines, but femurs are also nice, being so large and all. I also had a couple ideas for apparel using bones. I want to find a plain, black bracer and find a perfect size ribcage that I can stick onto it for a costume. One of my distant friends also made an axe head out of a huge scapula. I don't remember what animal he got it from or how he did it, but he showed it to me last month over the web and I was dumb enough not to save the picture! But yes, thanks for becoming my new inspiration CB

| I found a nice Bone-Fragment on the side of the road a while ago, & decided that something must be done with it. It's probably from a deer, but it could very well be an unlucky hit-and-run victim. I don't care; I was just glad to have something to do. Actually, I *do* care - human Bone would sell a LOT higher. {yeah, I have a very screwed-up sense of humour}I filed that thing for so long, at least three hours. I also hand-twisted the cord, the toggle is a Bone-fragment that chipped-off, so I filed it into shape, and the copper wrap happened because the cord wasn't cooperating. The symbol is just a random scribble that means nothing, insofar as I'm aware, and it's coloured with Tea, because Tea is awesome. Next-up, a Sacrificial/Ceremonial Bone Dagger! Well, almost... This was just something I decided to do on a camping trip - I kept telling Myself for years, "Hey, I'll make a set of Bone daggers the moment I get a dremel!" Needless to say, I never got one, but I found a Bone & decided I didn't need "perfect tools" when I wasn't doing a single thing at the time. You can see where I tried sawing through it with a goddamn file, but after a while, I just started grinding it on a goddamn *rock* Six and a half hours later, I had a respectable-looking Bone-dagger, complete with a pretty little Butterfly charm {another two hours with a file} on a red cord... ... then My drunk ass lost it... My phone died before I could take pictures, and I was camping, so I couldn't charge it. I Know, I Know, "How convenient!" you say, but that's what happened, and that's the main reason I don't drink anymore. I also lost some very nice pocketknives that were freaking GREAT for woodcarving, made by Zippo, right over in Bradford, PA {American made, for once!} and since I lose so much stuff when I'm drunk, I'm done with that shit now. It's overrated, anyway. I still have half a Butterfly charm, at least. | |

| "Pictures, or it didn't happen!" Well, *BOOM* Try calling Me a liar now, betches! I wasn't doing anything again {... I'm never doing anything...} so I made a new dagger to replace the one I lost in less time than the last, because I had a big-freaking rasp, instead of a goddamn *rock* It's rather pointy. My Favourite part is the Butterfly. The grooves I filed into the center of the handle can scarcely be seen. How are y'all's prejects coming along? | |

| I'ven't really been on here in a while. Just busy, I Guess. Well, here's where My weekend went: So many hours just... disappeared into those. Cool, though. I need to carve a bunch of Runes or something into the blades on these things. The top one was filed into shape by a Friend; I just put the handle on that one, and it took Me too damn long to wrap it that tightly with the hemp & two types of wire. The other two {an almost *Perfectly* matched set} are being mailed to Texas in exchange for a set of vambraces, and the guy will be putting his own leather handles on them that I can't wait to see. They're actually pretty flippin' sharp. Peace, yo. | |

| this is a really very nice work, I would indeed someday build a Mandalorian armor made of bones and co. but knife would be great for that. what it would cost me as a part? purely hypothetical.
Visually, this also suits my character, until I suck you out of the blood, then I scraped the meat from the bones and make me thereof armor, knives and furnishings.
The last part is joking

| XIPHOIDS | Also known as a Retractable Forearm Dagger, Xiphoid is a class of weapons with a blade that is retractable into a forearm worn wristband/bracer sheath. Designed for swift and quick surprise attacks. It is notable for being evolved from the Katar and the Pata, punching swords with the blade sitting inline with the users fist.. |
Doers and Talkers | There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down.
You've got your 'talkers' and you've got your 'doers'.
Most people are just talkers, all they got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world. And when they do that, they change us. And thats why we never forget them...
So which one are you? Do you just talk about it or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just bullshit. |
