| Very nice. Good to see you have improved and updated the staff. Much better when it's more sleek.
Can i ask how will this be attached to your person. Meaning as in a sling, a pocket, harness, belt or shoulder strap?

| I've thought about that, but I haven't settled on anything yet. Since I do leatherwork, I can make any kind of holster, really, but I'm still testing out various configurations. A lot of it will depend upon some other projects I have in mind, various kinds of bags and packs to add to my gear. The staff will likely find a place in or attached to one of those. | |

| First of all, fantastic job with the staff!
If you wanted to get fancy, you could always try a mechanism similar to the one Ammnra used in his "hidden short sword" (watch the video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTdRbJaJ5fM). Basically, you would just attach half of the staff (or one retracted baton) to each forearm. A quick ring pull would let it drop down into your hand.
Just a suggestion, keep us posted on what you decide on.

| I've seen ammnra's videos, his hidden "anything" kit is similar to it. Would be pretty awesome to have to batons come out of the sleeves and attach themto each other.
A slight problem is that it needs to swivel, when it reaches the end of the "rail", (part reason for wearing a t-shirt). But it could be rigged up, to come straight out of the sleeves, into your hand. My two pence worth :)

| Nice concept Arthyron, Personally i would add some mods to make it better, For instance, try creating a lock which locks both baton sticks you used to create this staff. this because then, you wil also be able to use 'stabbing' actions with it, without it retracting.
Good luck with it, I never managed to design something that works with baton sticks!

| XIPHOIDS | Also known as a Retractable Forearm Dagger, Xiphoid is a class of weapons with a blade that is retractable into a forearm worn wristband/bracer sheath. Designed for swift and quick surprise attacks. It is notable for being evolved from the Katar and the Pata, punching swords with the blade sitting inline with the users fist.. |
Doers and Talkers | There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down.
You've got your 'talkers' and you've got your 'doers'.
Most people are just talkers, all they got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world. And when they do that, they change us. And thats why we never forget them...
So which one are you? Do you just talk about it or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just bullshit. |
