Short-Burst Propelled Weapon

Question!



This is Beowulf, a gauntlet and boot set from the ever-so-awesome DMC series. It's a weapon from the light beast and allows it's wearer to perform lightning fast punches and kicks.

I want a pair.

What I want to do is implement a handle in the gauntlets with a trigger somewhere inside. Two things I'm gonna try and make happen:

1) The trigger releases a quick burst of some kind of propellant from ports along the gauntlets.

2) Holding the trigger builds up larger amounts of the propellant, depending on the duration the trigger is held, and once released, the propellant bursts out from ports along the gauntlets.

The same thing goes for the boots, except the trigger is above the toe (since when you're moving, you don't really touch the top of your shoe with your toe).

I figure option one would be best, as well as easiest. I just don't know what to use as a propellant, or what small parts I would need to do something like this. Any help would be totally awesome!

I would suggest for option one to use some type of compressed air apparatus and spring loaded shocks important parts of the gauntlets and boots. Such as the Knuckles and the soles. It wouldn't make them fast but if build right, it would pack a heavy punch.

So your looking for something like this :


russian rocket boots.

Those boots are basically springs...gas or regular...similar to a pogo stick only made similar to power stilts.

My best guess would be a mech that stores energy and releases it on impact like the pneumatic hammers used to break up concrete.

...weaponized...similar to one used by Loz in Advent Children.



you might want to look into patents of jackhammers man...but the kick might dislocate your shoulder.

Edit: Missed the part about propellant exiting through ports...hmmm... cool

It's not the impact that's what I'm looking for. I want a propellant that will assist in executing the punches and kicks faster.

Like, before I throw the punch or launch the kick, the trigger is pressed and it propels the gauntlet or boot forward.

I'll whip up a drawing tomorrow.

Well if you insist on speed look at the function of the Jackhammer tool and see how you can apply it to your gauntlet and boots.

In the fourth game he gets gilgamesh, they work just like beowulf, but look different.

ummmm you do realize this is a metaphysical weapon from a game that does not have to follow the stress limits of the human body?... Also do you not know how a punch is delivered?
A punch is delivered by the shoulder and elbow not just the fist.







If you attach a means of propulsion to said fist you run the much higher chance of dislocating most if not all of the above mentioned mechanism of punching(i.e hyper-extending your whole arm.) the first time you miss.

But hay by all means prove me wrong and build it ...

I don't think anyone here understand what he wants, what he is asking, is how to build a device, that while he is throwing a punch, can burst out compressed air of some sort, to increase the speed of the punch, so the gas would propel his fist forward even more than the punch he had thrown, I like the Idea man, wanna see this happen :)

Ok well in the game it's not the gauntlets that made him punch so fast that's just his character awsomeness, what beowulf more or less actualy does is shoot out a blast of light and air. So what about a glove that shoots out jets of co2 in every punch?

Ok, but what do the the light and air do? does it just look pretty? are you sure that burst of air is not what propels the glove?

Well in a fight it would be distracting as hell that is for sure.
