| ive thought up am apserloutly awsome weapon that i need some one to help me design/build/draw its a staff rite. about 6 foot in hight but it divides into about 3 or 4 iderviual parts, two of these parts can come apart again and become nun chucks with a hollw part in the handles for storage or other add ons (see later in my post for more details on this). the middle section thats a bit bigger has a sword/large knife build into it this middle sectin ( or any other ideas u prople can come up with)can have a walking stick handel atached or a skull top peice. in the handles or the nun chucks cud be small knifes or spikes or weights or any other accessories u can think of. all joined together by screw threads made out or solid alluminum with a crisscross pattern in it and about 4cm wide
now ive tryed and failed making blueprints and designs i just cant get them rite if some one has some spare time and thinks this is a good idea please contact me on "beermatt99@yahoo.co.nz" i really think this is a great idea if any one wanta to help me emaiil me and il give u a full discription.
if anyone else has any awsome ideas on how to improve it just post it

| I have thought of a similar weapons for about 30years now. I started playing with staffs and nunchucks at about age 8. At some point after making my own weapons for years I started buying real nunchucks. one of the ones I have is the nightstick that twist and opens into nuchucks. I've always wanted another to screw onto the end. That would give you the following options: staff 2 nunchucks 2 sticks 1 stick 1 nunchuck 3 sectional staff sweeper What is needed is the male/female connections. Find those and you can build the rest of your weapon easy. I'll to a little searching and see if I can find something.... | |

| I'm actually pretty sure they already make a threes sectional staff version of the screw apart nunchaku... AHA! Found it! http://www.knivesandweapons.com/cgi-bin/products/store.cgi?database=accessories&action=view_product&productID=J061&category=1 Actually these are not really that hard to make. You can make them from PVC pipe or steel pipe. I made a pair of nunchaku from steel pipe, it's a pain drilling a hole through the pipe caps. I wouldn't recommend steel piping for a stave version though Aluminum is much easier to work with. And as Sinza pointed out, all you really need is a male/female connector, or a similarly convenient way to couple two sections of pipe. It becomes really easy then. If i have some time I'll also see if I can find some parts and put together a schematic... | |

| There is ONE forum I can think of that would help, FreestyleForum.net It's a forum DEDICATED to freestyling weapons(primarily nunchaku, as well as poi and bo,to a minor degree) just check out the D.I.Y. thread. I'm on there as well, and trust me, it's ALMOST as huge as this, almost. | |

let me know ur thoughs (i and ino my spelling isnt the greatest) Just so you know....We really hate text speak. It's hard to read and makes the person look like a child...or too lazy to do it right. Both are annoying. I hate making rules, but this is getting out of control. Basic Grammar rules please. 1. Start you sentence with a CAPITAL letter. You know, so we can tell that it's the beginning. 2. End you sentence with SOME FORM of punctuation mark. (.!?) Not that hard. How am I supposed to know where your sentence ends?? 3 Spelling. I understand spelling a word wrong, no big deal. ...but this crap: - Quote :
- ive, simperler, pises, hav, ic (?), sommat, itsa, ur, ino(?)
It's getting to be too much. It's insulting. Especially when WE ALL HAVE SPELLCHECK!!! Come on! New rules: 1. If I can't read what you write I'll just delete it. That easy. 2. If your message is full of text speak I'll delete it. 3. If you spell words so bad that I you just don't care, neither do I. Deleted. Download Googgle toolbar and put SPELLCHECK on your toolbar AND USE IT. Takes just a second. All of this is way too easy. Again, if you are that lazy and just don't care... neither do I. Deleted. We are not children. I do not want to read letters that look like a five year old wrote it. Again...I hate rules, and I may break some now and then....but a message full of this crap I just can't handle. I'm not saying that EVERY post has to be perfect, far from it. But this new generation can't spell worth a damn. NO TEXT SPEAK! lrn 2 spel rite uno tring 2 reed dis crap is fkd a wayst ofmy tym

| Me and my friend are currently in a race to make our seperate interpretations of Marvels Daredevil's Billy Club.
He sees it as simular to what Sinza mentioned, a staff you twists apart and both ends are connected by a reel of steel cable.
Mine however is more ambious, a telescopic staff (I'm using the protoype of two friction lock battons end to end at the moment) with another section on one end containing the steel cable and an attached section to be thrown.
Kinda like you see in this image
Mines a pain as rather then the easier method of two batons 'fat' end to 'fat' end I've got the narrow end conjoining the two - and needing a section to slide across to cover the gap for easier handling.

| Now that sounds interesting... Why use telescoping batons? Why not just a sold center piece to house a cable reel? | |

| I'm using batons as my mock up design, to make sure its possible but yes the actual design when I'm ready to run round and get parts will be a solid peice - perhaps not even metal seeing as it wont be recieving blows directly.
You wouldnt believe how hard it is drawing that kinda thing freehand.
I couldnt even use the movie version as a helpful reference as they had like six different ones that each did something different rather then one universal one.
Edit; Using these as references http://www.yourprops.com/view_items.php?movie=Daredevil+(2003)

| ok heres the edited version ok happy now
ive had another and much simpler idea. a easy expandable bo staff made out of decapitated cruch pieces . you could use 2 outside bits and one inside bit put them together, then you pull on both ends and it extends, it could be walking stick or smaller size with a skull or something on the top. then you pull on the ends and itslides out to be a long bo staff with a heavy metal bit on the end and mabey a small blade sliding out of the end
if anyone else has built custom bo staff's with hidden compartments and/or other add ons please upload pictures as im trying to think up new ideas. and if someone is good at drawing/making blueprints or designs PLEASE contact me. i want to build this so much , and if some one lives in new zealand and u know were i can buy some good supplies or maby some cruches please say.

| Hey, Matty... is there supposed to be a pic in your post? Also, There are lots of folks here who are excellent at designing/drawing/blueprinting. BUT if you want someone to help you I'd kindly ask that you request it in the forum, rather than have someone contact you directly. As much as possible, and as a general rule, I'd like everyone to benefit from everyone else's suggestions and ideas, and that can only happen if everything is done openly, on the forums, as opposed to through pms or email. Thanks!! | |

Be careful of these, the aluminium is very thin and cheap. Although the thread is glued in place, one small hit will definately dent the pole and most likely pull the threaded pipe away from the coupling. It distorts easily and almost impossible to get back in shape. Great idea but poorly made. If you use the couplings from this on better pipe it will work, anchored well, or even better, just use a male and female coupling attached by laminated cable. Less moving parts, more reliable and doesn't make a huge rattle like the chain version.

| Hey Steve, Good call on the sectional staff/nunchaku, yes, they are very thin walled, mine are dinged up all over the place. The chain links have held however, probably because the actual nunchaku are so light. using regular pipe is better, though I personally prefer the chain to the coated steel cable, the chain is much more flexible, I found it easier to attach to the pipe, and it responds better. However I think it is really a matter of personal preference, both are very good solutions... | |

| I would prefer a staff personaly. but the nun chuck idea is good for an addd on inside the staff. I wouldnt mind having a staff with a spring loaded blade hidden in the end, to deploy with i butten or swich in the staff handle or a hidden sword or even a gun. | |

| Hello all,
This is my first post on this forum so here it goes. For a long time i thought about a staff that has many gadgets and accessories and the main thing I figured out was that a staff needs to be reliable and sustain enough power without breaking. For this reason i figured some kind of screw connection should be made. An idea is to use the kind of screw that many automatic support firearms use to change the barrel, since it's apparently pretty strong and secure(same accuracy with another barrel at 300 meters range). the connection consists of two half screws, sort of like the radiator caps in cars but with more teeth. This way it will lock easily and securely, and be able to withstand enough presure witout giving in. I don't have any pictures right now but I'll try and find some to post later on, or create some semantics. Ofcource this is just in the context of being able to switch fast and eficciently from one mode into other under combat conditions.

Doers and Talkers | There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down.
You've got your 'talkers' and you've got your 'doers'.
Most people are just talkers, all they got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world. And when they do that, they change us. And thats why we never forget them...
So which one are you? Do you just talk about it or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just bullshit. |
