| I don't know if I'm posting this in the right area but ever since I first played ff IIX, I was almost as obsessed with Zell's gauntlets as I was with the gun blade. I have what I think is a good idea to do it but I'm not sure how to "hold it together" for a lack of better terms....
Materials:
*leather gloves *1/8" thick sheet metal (not real sure on how thick it should be) *hammer *sheet metal cutters *thin padding (?) *cloth(?) *curved needle & thread(?) *scissors
Step #1: Cut fingers of the gloves at the joint above the knuckles.
Step #2: Cut holes at knuckles (optional but it would look better when its done).
Step #3: Measure & cut metal to dimensions of hands. a: back of hand (excluding knuckles) b: side of hand ("thumb area"?) c: knuckles including thumb ( a little bit bigger for next step) d: bone between knuckle and first joint on fingers (and thumbs for those who want to get overly technical)
Step #4: Place metal cut for knuckles (hereby referred to as studs) on a curved object roughly the size of your knuckles and hammer till it feels natural on knuckles.
Step #5: Cut the cloth and padding to size and shape needed (cloth will need to be a little bigger to cover metal and padding).
Step #6: While glove is upside down place studs and plates in their correct spots in the glove.
Step #7: (tricky part)Place padding in correct spots on two of the plates and studs and lay cloth on top of padding
Step #8: Sew cloth in to glove (I'm guessing this is gonna be nearly impossible).
Very long and lacking pictures and diagrams I know. I haven't made it, but I've had this idea for about 5 years now. I would have drawings but I can't draw really due to my hands (shakes).
If anyone has any improvements to materials, or better way for assembly please post it and let me know if you love or hate my idea, thanks.

| Shakes? You mean you got tremors? I went to culinary school with a guy who had um too. Anywhoo... I fuckin love that game, (I think Mike Tyson does too) Of course your talkin about these right. Looks like a metal plate with rour raised bumps for your knuckles. Of course the game dosn't have a realistic way of attaching said plate to the glove. I would use contact cement or like you said sew it down. Oh and by the way | |

| Hahaha that loop at the bottom kicks ass. Thanks, and yeah I do mean tremors. And I do mean those. I kinda forgot what they look like and I figured that it was just the studs in the game so I improved on it.... and like every other fanboy I've entertained the idea of making the gunblade too (30-6 or .50 cal. is a must). | |

| You could probably rivet the metal to a rectangular shaped, thin piece of plastic (that is placed on the inside of the glove) and add foam padding. I was thinking of doing this with another sort of idea that I thought could be applied to this as well. | |

| XIPHOIDS | Also known as a Retractable Forearm Dagger, Xiphoid is a class of weapons with a blade that is retractable into a forearm worn wristband/bracer sheath. Designed for swift and quick surprise attacks. It is notable for being evolved from the Katar and the Pata, punching swords with the blade sitting inline with the users fist.. |
Doers and Talkers | There's two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down.
You've got your 'talkers' and you've got your 'doers'.
Most people are just talkers, all they got is talk. But when all is said and done, it's the doers who change this world. And when they do that, they change us. And thats why we never forget them...
So which one are you? Do you just talk about it or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just bullshit. |
